How to Set Up and Use the Discord Share Service in NinjaTrader 8

1. Import the Discord Share Service

  1. Open NinjaTrader 8.
  2. Go to the top menu and select Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On...
  3. In the file dialog, locate and select the NinjaScript archive file containing the Discord Share Service.
  4. Click Open and wait for NinjaTrader to confirm the import is complete.

2. Create a Discord Webhook

  1. Open Discord and navigate to the server and channel where you want to receive messages.
  2. Click the gear icon next to the channel name to open Channel Settings.
  3. Go to the Integrations tab and select Webhooks.
  4. Click New Webhook.
  5. Set a name (e.g., "Captain Hook") and select the channel (e.g., #shareservice).
  6. Click Copy Webhook URL to copy the webhook link to your clipboard.

3. Configure the Discord Share Service in NinjaTrader

  1. In NinjaTrader, go to Tools → Options → Share Services.
  2. In the Available list, select Discord and click add to move it to Configured.
  3. In the Properties panel on the right, paste your Discord webhook URL into the Webhook Url field.
  4. Set the service as Default if you want.
  5. Click Apply and then OK to save your settings.

4. Send Information to Discord

  1. From any window in NinjaTrader 8 (e.g., chart, strategy analyzer), right-click and select Share.
  2. In the Share dialog, select Discord.
  3. Optionally, attach an image or enter a message in the text box.
  4. Click OK to send the message and/or image to your Discord channel.

  1. Your message and any attached image will appear in the selected Discord channel via the webhook.
